About the Author

Welcome to ctrlaltsec.com. This space is dedicated to the evolving world of cybersecurity, focusing on the technical labs, industry shifts, and defensive strategies that shape our digital landscape.

I am a cybersecurity professional and current Insider Threat Program Analyst, currently pursuing a Master of Science in Information Security Engineering (MSISE) at the SANS Technology Institute. With over two decades of experience in the telecommunications and analytics space, I’ve spent the last several years specializing in the human element of security—identifying and mitigating risks from within.

Why ctrlaltsec.com?

The goal of this blog is to bridge the gap between high-level governance and “hands-on-keyboard” technical skill. Whether I’m documenting a complex digital forensics project, sharing insights from TryHackMe labs, or breaking down a recent exploit, this site serves as a digital notebook for my continuous learning journey.

Security is never static. On this site, you’ll find:

  • Weekly Roundups: A curated look at the most significant headlines in cyber.
  • Technical Deep-Dives: My personal walkthroughs and documentation for incident response and penetration testing tools.
  • Career & Education Insights: My experiences navigating advanced cybersecurity certifications and graduate-level studies.

My Approach

I believe that the best defense is built through curiosity and persistence. When I’m not monitoring for insider risks or studying for my next SANS course, I’m usually experimenting with Linux distributions, troubleshooting hardware, or exploring the intersection of data analytics and threat hunting.

Thank you for stopping by. Let’s keep the perimeter secure.
